I graduated from Peace River High School in 1992 and first came back as a teacher in the 2005-2006 school year. I am the First Nation, Metis, and Inuit liaison for the school, so if a student is interested in participating in a sweat lodge or being a member of the Hand Games team, they should let me know :) I am also available to provide extra academic support. I teach Aboriginal Studies, English and Math. I will also be offering regular weekly yoga classes during success block time.
Course Outlines Semester 1
This is a very hands-on course where students will have the opportunity to take on leadership roles to support their community. We will be involved in school events such as Orange Shirt day as well as events in the wider community such as Sisters in Spirit. Students will have the opportunity to learn from elders and may choose to participate in cultural ceremonies such as sweat lodges. All students who are interested are welcome to join us :)
