I was born in Peace River and completed all of my schooling here. I attended Grande Prairie Regional College and University of Alberta to achieve a B.Sc. in Home Economics, majoring in Foods and Nutrition. I travelled extensively for a few years and then returned to U of A to earn my B.Ed. I taught Science and English in the adult upgrading program at Fairview College in Peace River for several years while I my children were young, and during that time also accredited as a Childbirth Educator and a Doula, and worked with new parents for ten years. I have been working toward a Fine Arts degree through GPRC intermittently over the years
I keep involved in the artistic culture of Peace River by helping to organize shows and events, and I create pottery in my studio at home.
I work with the Interact Club, our group of students who volunteer their efforts to support local causes such as Rotary House, and international relief and development work.
I joined Peace River High School as the Art teacher in 2000 and I love my job! In addition to Art, I teach CTS courses in the MDC cluster (Media, Design, Communication) and English Language Arts. I am happy to be part of the positive and energetic staff of Peace River High School.
